HELM Hosting Control Panel Overview
HELM is a hosting control system designed for web hosts operating on Windows 2000 and 2003, that is, windows hosting system. It is in fact an administration program for several servers. It has been designed to cater to web hosting providers, whether large, small or medium scale, data centers and internet hosting providers etc. All of which need a proper platform that automatically manages their daily work. If it were not for HELM, one would have needed a huge workforce including efficient team of experienced professionals to perform all the automation responsibilities demanded by hosting services for instance; windows dedicated hosting etc.
The latest control panel by HELM is something like Plesk cPanel and bears a lot of resemblance to the Windows OS interface. Plesk used a sidebar and felt like a windows folder while HELM has taken a liking to the linking font and icons. Infact by even viewing the banner and image many people may get a reminiscence of a PC. The only reason one can conceive is to increase a sense of acquaintance for the users so that they do not find it difficult to use this control panel. The control panel is pretty simple and relates strongly to the web hosting account of the user. The users can administer domains, perform account settings and can get assistance of wizard when in need. These options appear in the control panel index page.
The index page is not that much cluttered, but we can’t judge a book by its cover, especially in this case. Infact if you look a little deep, you will find quite a number of things in there. This may come as a flaw of HELM as the developers failed to envisage what the user might be looking for on the index page, and the absence of this ease may make them frustrated. To get to the core stuff, users will have to figure out that clicking on My Domains and then registered domain name gets them to other functions. The core functions include email accounts, statistics, databases, backup techniques, domain settings, Ftp accounts etc. Nevertheless, HELM provides the most preferred add-ons rather than proffering unnecessary tools and functions.
The incorporated communication program enabling the users to dispatch vital notifications or messages to all the clients is quite an effective tool for the web hosts. Moreover, mailing invoice, payment reminders and various other communication strategies can be looked after wonderfully with HELM windows dedicated hosting.
The availability of single control panel makes it easier to manage customer base. You don’t have to log in to multiple locations as all accounts can be accessed from one user logging. This works even when customer sites operate from remote servers. The extensive billing system allows web hosts to charge customers on daily to yearly bases and also offers them options to choose the payment mode. Last but not least, users can produce reports via HELM; for reseller, client and domain bandwidth exploitation for a specific time period.
