What is commonly referred to as ’causes’ (for insomnia) are actually statistically relevant LINKS – not direct scientific causes. you could f.e. likely establish a link between Big Mac consumption and insomnia. As a sleep -specialist I am increasing dismayed about those links because they heighten anxiety. Then there is the other research that links insomnia to the most dire medical consequences. whatever causes your insomnia there is always going to be one event ‘where the rubber meets the road’: The time when you are alone and faced with the fact that you are of two minds – one part of you desperately wants to sleep and another part vehemently prevents it.
